Nancy S. Butters,72, of Clay City passed away on February 14, 2020, at home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. Nancy was born on November 14, 1948 in Terre Haute, IN to Albert H. and Jane (Harriott) Siebenmorgen.
Nancy is preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Butters; her daughter Leah Butters; her granddaughter Brooke Lowe (Donald); her great-grandchildren Jaryd and Avary Lowe; her sister Ann Bartley (Larry); her sister Joyce Siebenmorgen; as well as many nieces, nephews and their children.
Nancy was a lady with many, many talents. Nancy was a truck driver for much of her life, sometimes she drove team with her husband and other times she took to the road solo. She also owned and operated Weddings and More, with her daughter Leah. She loved to bake and decorate cakes, which she did for roughly 48 years. She was also a long time employee of H & R Block.
A celebration of life is being planned in honor of Nancy. The celebration will be held on Sunday March 8, 2020 from 1 to 4 at Sycamore Club. Sycamore Club is located at 200 Heritage Dr, Terre Haute, IN 47803.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Girl Scouts of America on behalf of Nancy.
