Patricia Ann Blye, 80, passed away on November 21, 2024 in her family home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 28, 1944, in Terre Haute to Paul Morrison and Helen (Taylor) Harris. She worked at Vigo County Community Corrections, and she was a cook at the jail. She also worked briefly as a 911 dispatcher.
In her free time, Patricia enjoyed flower gardening and sewing. She was a 12 Points clean-up volunteer where she regularly picked up trash for the community where she grew up and loved. Patricia also loved getting up early on Saturdays to go to yard sales and shop at different places throughout Terre Haute, with her daughter Toni. She shopped until she dropped.
She is survived by her children Tonja Smith, Tina Cook (Rob), and John Castle (Melanie); siblings Donna Bredeweg, William R. Harris (Linda), and Constance Bell (Terry); grandchildren Shawn Smith, Dylan Smith, Alec Castle, Adam Castle, Austin Castle, Taylor Castle, Koarey Castle, and Robert Cook; great-grandchildren Maddie Smith, Julia Smith, Rylan Smith, and Kasyn Smith; several nieces and nephews, and beloved dog Baxter.
She is preceded in death by her life partner of 40 years, Don Kyle; son Robert Castle, and both parents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice, her loving caregiver Ashley Sabin, and Dr. Mardini for always taking such good care of her.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring at Collett Park. Online condolences can be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com.
