Patricia Norris (Walters,) lovingly known as Pat, passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Jenison, Michigan on June 18, 2025.  Born in Seymour, Indiana on May 7, 1937, she was the cherished daughter of Charles F. Walter and Beulah Fields Walters.  She was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, Lawrence Yaw. 

     Pat was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; infant brother Charles; Brother Larry Max Yaw; her beloved son David W. Norris (2008); and the father of her children, Gerald E. Norris.

     Pat grew up in Pimento, Indiana and attended Blackhawk High School.  As a devoted military wife, she spent 20 years traveling to various U.S. Marine Corps bases, supporting her family with strength and grace.  After settling in Terre Haute, she worked at JCPenny for 20 years, where she was known for her kindness and dedication.

     Thirteen years ago, Pat moved to Jenison, Michigan, to live with her son Chuck.  Her greatest joy in life was her family-her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world.  She found simple pleasures in feeding squirrels and watching The Waltons, a show that reflected her values of family, love, and resilience.

     Pat is survived by her loving children; daughter Donna J. Norris of Terre Haute, Indiana; son Chuck E. Norris (Missy) of Jenison, Michigan.  She is also remembered by her sister-in-law Carol Yaw of Chrisman, Illinois; nieces Lisa McCormick, Elizabeth Yaw, Elaine Yaw, and Alison Parks; her many grandchildren Josh Guess (Michelle Lawson), Jessica Guess (Allen Johnson), Jolyn Osborne (John), Jordan Guess (Andrea Fortner), Jared Guess (Alicia Fortune), Kaitlynn M. Norris, Matt Norris, Sarah Shirley (Tim) all of Terre haute, IN, Nick Norris and Alex Norris from Jenison, MI.

     Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren; Jarrett Guess, Kiley Tremain, Kayona Ware, Noah Guess, Fai Hopkins, Ameerah Ware, Timmy Shirley, MaKayla Leclerq, Keegan Tremain, Nolan Leclerq, Isaiah Norris, Laila Guess, Izzy Osborne, Ava Shirley, Kinleigh Guess, JJ Hutchinson, JaVeah Hutchinson, Jordan Guess, and Kayloni Wright; great-great grandchild, Kamari Suggs-all of Terre Haute.

     Our mother was a gentle soul whose love and warmth touched everyone she met.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

     There will be a graveside service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN at a later date.
