Phillip Howard Allen, 67, of Terre Haute, transitioned Thursday night, November 6, 2025, at Union Hospital. He was born on August 9, 1958, in Terre Haute, to Emerson Leo Allen Sr and Rosetta (Mama Rose) Walden Allen.

Phillip served for 20 years in the Army National Guard, and his biggest passions were watching wrestling, “his stories” and cooking. Phillip worked in several Terre Haute restaurants and was also the lead cook during his military career at his National Guard summer camps and at the National Guard armory Holiday celebrations.

He is survived by children, Christina Lynn Allen, and Christopher Lee Allen, both of Terre Haute; Leeland Bruce Carson Jr (BJ), of Ohio, and Coty Washington (wife Sarah) of California. He is also survived by sister Rosetta Allen Ingram (husband James) of Evansville, brother Emerson L. Allen Jr (wife Mary) of Indianapolis; sister Helen C. Allen, brothers Tommy J, Allen (TJ), Eric M. Walden, and Anthony Walden (Tony) all of Terre Haute. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special family friends.

Visitation will be at the Samaritan Funeral Home November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. and service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Curtis Mitchell officiating. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Phillip’s name to the American Cancer Society. Following the service, a carry-in gathering will be at the Times of Refreshing Church at 1610 N 25th St.
