Rex Kent Moore, 86, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026.  He was born to Theodore K. Moore and Mildred (Brandenburg) Moore on August 22, 1939 in Terre Haute.  Rex worked as an Operating Engineer for the Local 841 and was also a member of the Air National Guard.  He married the love of his life, Ruth, on November 23, 1963.

Rex was an outdoorsman through and through.  He loved to hunt – especially small game such as quail, squirrels, and rabbits.  He also enjoyed trap shooting.  Rex raised and trained his own bird dogs.  Fishing and mushroom hunting were other things he enjoyed doing.  Every Wednesday night Rex could be found at the Lost Creek Conservation Club.  On nice summer and fall days, he enjoyed sitting on his front porch swing and having a cup of coffee.

Rex is preceded in death by both of his parents; his loving wife; sister Susan Wise.

Rex is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Moore; four grandchildren from the heart: Kaylee Senteney, Colton Senteney (Halle), Cierra “Rinky Dink” Kincaid, Cooper Foy; niece Cindy Sudgen; nephews Marty (Jackie) White; great-nieces Hannah White, Kami White; great-nephews Ryan, Jacob White, Jason Farmer; several great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation for Rex will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Samaritan Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Service will begin at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the East Side Church of Christ.  Online condolences may be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com
