Richard "Rick" Eugene Durbin Obituary

Richard “Rick” Eugene Durbin, 71, of Brazil passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024.  He was born August 24, 1953, in Brazil to Phillip E. Durbin and Alice J. Mustard Durbin Cox.  Rick was a retired welder.  He was known as a free spirit.  Rick enjoyed traveling and loved hats.  He not only wore hats, but he also designed and made hats.  They called him “Cowboy” at the apartment complex.  Although he had a grumpy disposition, he was loved by his family.  He was a Colts fan and enjoyed watching the old spaghetti westerns.


Rick is survived by his children, Ricki Durbin-Luedeman (Joe) and Richard Durbin, Jr.; siblings Bobbi Timpe (Ray Cesnik), Tammy Young (Rex Dannitt), Jane Cox (Sonny Bryan), Joseph Cox (Chrissy), Sandy Hoffman (Brad), Debbie Emrick (Mark), and James Cox (Betty); as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and several cousins.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Steven Durbin, Ernie Durbin, Dale Durbin.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cooper Towers.  Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to samaritanfunerals.com.
