Richard “Rick” Scott Parker passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on July 7, 1961in Robinson, Illinois.  Rick was the third son born to Edward Wayne Parker and Marilyn Sue Martin Parker. A lifelong resident of Brazil, Rick graduated from the former Brazil High School in 1979.

Rick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, and hunting mushrooms. He loved all things fast and could virtually be found riding his four-wheelers, his Harley Davidson motorcycles, or cruising in his Ford Mustangs.

On October 5, 2007 Rick married the love of his life, Anita Ann Beeler. They would spend their free time riding their bikes together, cruising car shows, enjoying local bands, or just socializing with friends at clubs. They also spent years supporting local Humane Shelters and raising and caring for numerous dogs, cats and exotic birds.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Anita. He is survived by his son, Keith E. Parker (Michelle) of Terre Haute, Indiana, grandson Avean I. Parker of Terre Haute, Indiana; brothers Brad W. Parker of Marshall, Illinois and Martin W. Parker of Champaign, Illinois, stepson Christopher Schepper of Brazil, Indiana, and his companion Lori Cheeseman of Brazil, Indiana.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Samaritan Funeral Home, located at 2425 Wabash Avenue in Terre Haute from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow immediately at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
