In loving memory of Richard "Shep" Douglas Shepard.

Richard passed away March 15, 2025 in Terre Haute, IN. He was born in Terre Haute on December 28, 1961 to George R. Shepard and Mary Anna (Harris) Shepard. Richard graduated with a GED at T.W. White and had training in HVAC and welding.

Richard was baptized at a young age, at Lost Creek Baptist Church, by Pastor L.O. Lapsley. Richard loved people and he loved hard. He was not afraid to try anything. He loved to ride horses and motorcycles, and loved fishing. At a early age he grew up on his Grandma Annie's farm and loved animals, especially his dog, Sweet Pea.

He leaves behind his wife Barbara Jane (Johnson) Shepard, who he was united in marriage with on September 26, 2018. He is also survived by sisters Angela Tyler (Ross) and Cecilia Shepard-Sapp (Ronnie), nieces and nephews Shawna, Karren, Billy, Marc, Alexis, L.A., Douglas (Que), Jamee, Zarianna, Zaiden, Azariah, Samya, D'ynasty and Y'naile, special sisters Julia and Eartha, special brothers Jimmy (Karen) and the Manuel Brothers, Patty, Terry, Lynn, Katrina, and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents George and Anna Shepard and George and Anna Harris, special Uncle Homer and Aunt Nola, sister Lynnette Goins (John), brother George R Shepard  Jr., nephews Douglas Ivy, Keegan Roberts and Gary Goins (Tuyet) and great niece Elionai (Keegan and Eliany's girl).

"I have lived my life as best as I could. I have given the rest of my time on this earth to my Heavenly Father. Love and thank you all."
