It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Ella (Treadway) Berglund, who departed this life on November 4, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, in March 1938, Rose was the beloved daughter of Hilda and Otis Treadway, and the eldest of seven children. She spent the majority of her life in the Boulder, Colorado area, where she built a loving home and community alongside her husband, John Berglund, who preceded her in death in 2002. After his passing, Rose returned to her hometown of Terre Haute, where she spent her remaining years.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Karen (Berglund) Heroux of Paradox, NY, and her son, James (Mike) Berglund of Denver, CO. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Jamie Johnson, Jeffrey Ulrich, Justine (Heroux) Gorman, Joey Heroux, Kody Heroux, Jesse Berglund, Jeremy Berglund, and Jennifer Berglund. Rose was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she enriched and the memories she leaves behind.
Rose will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, John, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana, to assist with funeral and medical expenses in honor of Rose’s memory.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered support and compassion during this time.
