Shirley Ann Bennett, 87, passed away on October 27, 2024. She was born on April 13, 1937 in Jasonville, IN to Ralph Bedwell and Ida (Kisor) Bedwell. Shirley was a case worker for the Terre Haute Housing Authority and a bartender at the American Legion Post #972. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary #972, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Beta Sigma Fi Sorority, and Red Hat Society. Shirley also enjoyed raising butterflies which she did for many years, mushroom hunting, gardening, and fishing.

She is survived by her sons Brett Bennett (Doris) and Jay Bennett, daughter Janeen Rhodes (Larry), son-in-law Danny Raubuck, grandchildren Danielle, Zachary, Timothy, Cara, Damon, Kristan, Adam, Carter, Alexis, and Brooke; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Leon Bennett, daughter Karen Raubuck, and siblings William Bedwell, Donald Bedwell, Virginia Harris, Bette Wheeler, Richard Bedwell, and Paul Bedwell.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Samaritan Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11 am at the funeral home.
