Thomas Delp Obituary

Thomas "Tommy" Ashley Delp, 67, of Dana, Indiana, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:00 am on Sunday, September 1, 2019.
Tommy was born on Nov. 4, 1951 in Tangier, IN to the late Chester Monroe Delp, Sr. and Thelma Alverna (Scott) Delp. He had a love of classic American muscle cars and worked as an auto mechanic in Clinton for over 30 years. He was known for being able to rattle off the make, model and year of any car he saw, as well as lesser-known auto trivia at the amusement and awe of all who knew him or met him. However, he is best known for his legacy of selflessness, generosity, kind-heartedness and gentleness to strangers and loved ones alike. He gladly gave of his time, money, possessions and talent to anyone in need and always thought of himself last, even in his own times of greatest need.
He enjoyed reading his Bible, attending singspirations with his family at Cayuga Church of the Nazarene, watching Gunsmoke, going to car shows, eating out with his brothers, fishing, working on cars and getting his truck stuck in mud, and playing with his grandchildren.
Tommy is survived by his children: Thomas Jason "TJ" Delp, Christina and Jesse Hardesty, and Cory and Carol Delp, his grandchildren: Jonah, Samuel, Todd, and Eden Delp, and Annabelle Hardesty, and his siblings: Helen Gebhart, Bill and Henrietta Delp, Gladys Carpenter, Nina and Clarence Rudolph, Jody Delp, Jarvis Delp, and Lonnie and Dorie Delp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Monroe Delp, Sr. and Thelma Alverna Delp, and his siblings, Chester Monroe "Junior" Delp, Jr., Howard Delp, Mary Delp, Cherald "Bud" Delp, and Margaret Delp.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 at the Cayuga Church of the Nazarene located in Cayuga, IN. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm with service officiated by Pastor Al Riggle following at 3:00 pm. Contributions can be made to Cayuga Church of the Nazarene.
