Thomas G. Lavey Obituary

Thomas G. Lavey, 87, of Clinton, IN, passed away at home February 8, 2026. He was born September 29, 1938 in Jackson, MI to George and Zita (Stover) Lavey. His parents, siblings Emmett Lavey and Lamoine Jacob, and daughter Christine (Lavey) Hamilton Roy preceded him in death.

Thomas was baptized November 15, 1969 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a beloved member of the Terre Haute North Congregation. He married Mary (Nenneman) Payne February 6, 1993 and had just celebrated 33 years of marriage. In his early years, Tom served for 11 years as a radar operator for the US Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Pillsbury in Seelyville, IN and drove a school bus for South Vermillion School Corporation.

Surviving are his wife Mary Lavey, daughter Kim (husband Bruce) Bridgham of Frankfort, IN, son Steve (wife Haiyan Yang) Lavey of Carmel, IN, stepdaughter Leslie (husband Kenneth) Kientzel of Deltona, FL, and many adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tom had a solid hope in the Bible's promise of a resurrection and the future paradise on Earth. We look forward to seeing him young and vibrant with his warm smile when all things are made new.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 3734 N 25th St, Terre Haute, IN 47805.
