Vernon Ross Hassler, 77, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana on October 14, 2025.
Vernon was born on July 27, 1948, in Terre Haute to Ross and Dorothy Hassler. After graduating from Gerstmeyer High School in 1966, he served in the United States Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged on December 9, 1971.
Vernon worked as a brick mason with his father for several years before becoming employed by RJ Construction in Terre Haute. He was talented in many crafts: framing, tile setting, but basically carpentry. This is to name just a few skills. He was involved in creating many of the newer subdivisions and businesses around the south side of Terre Haute.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Dorothy Hassler. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Hassler, and daughter, Jamie Hassler (Matt Thomas) also in Rockville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Emma, Blake, Miles, and Nathan in Sydney, Australia; and several nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at this time, but a Remembrance Celebration with family and friends will be held at a later date.
